Long-form first, because the frame is controllable.
The beta deliberately excludes short-form cover inventory until its creative and measurement conditions can be defined as precisely as long-form thumbnails.
| Surface | Beta status | Why | Payment treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard YouTube long-form video | Eligible after review | Supports a creator-controlled custom 1280×720 thumbnail and current reach reporting. | Validated eligible impressions can become billable. |
| YouTube Shorts | Waitlist only | Thumbnail selection and display surfaces differ from uploaded long-form custom thumbnails. | Never billed in the beta. |
| Instagram Reels / TikTok covers | Waitlist only | Smaller or inconsistent cover presentation needs a separate standard. | Never billed in the beta. |
| Private chats / external previews | Organic spillover | FrameYield cannot independently validate where or how long the preview was visible. | Never billed. |
Know the deal before the offer.
Do I have to mention the sponsor in my video?
Not for a Frame-Only placement. Your ordinary editorial video stays intact unless you separately accept another deliverable. You must still use the required paid-promotion and local advertising disclosures.
Which videos qualify?
FrameYield currently accepts standard public YouTube long-form videos with custom 1280×720 thumbnails. Shorts, Reels, TikTok covers, livestreams, private videos and external previews are not billable.
When is a payout earned?
After the reporting period closes, eligible impressions enter a seven-day validation window. Cleared balances above the fixed currency threshold are scheduled in the Thursday payout run once identity, tax and bank requirements are complete.
Can I reject a brand?
Yes. You can reject any offer or creative variant without account penalty. A placement requires your approval and the brand’s approval before it can move toward publication.
Does a large subscriber count guarantee entry?
No. FrameYield reviews eligible thumbnail reach, recent long-form publishing, audience quality, account standing, rights and brand safety. Subscribers are context, not the billing unit.
Bring the channel. Keep the final say.
Applying saves a review record; it does not guarantee acceptance, campaigns or earnings. Creators outside the payout-enabled pilot may join the waitlist.
